Life in September: Day Thirteen

React to the term “Comfort”

*Cozy sweaters

*A warm cup of coffee

*Rainy days at home

*Sheets fresh from the dryer

*Falling asleep after a long day

*First boot day of the season

*First sandal day of the season

*Thanksgiving Dinner

*Christmas with my family

*Being with people who understand you completely

During my college days I would go home once every six weeks or so. That simple act brought me so much joy and happiness. Nothing felt as comfortable to me as being home, sleeping in my bed, and eating my mom’s food. The free laundry wasn’t bad either!

Life in June: Number 11-9

Catch up here!

Number 11: My friends are absolutely the best.

They are throwing me, and I can’t stress this enough, a Ryan Lochte Themed Going Away Party.

A RYAN LOCHTE going away party.

This can only go one way… and that would be amazing!

Number 10: How am I going to move all of this?

This falls under the category of Things I Wish I Knew.

I mean really, folks, how am I going to move all of this jewelry?? If you have any ideas, please please help a sister out!

Number 9: I belong in Texas.

Case in point.

Not only do I group message my eight and eleven year old nieces, (Yes, 8 and 11), but they correct each other, while being in the same room with each other.

These kids are the greatest!

Life on the Weekend

Linking up for This Weekend I…

TWI

After last weekend’s general suckiness, I was looking forward to spending time with my sister friends chilling on our yoga mats. We were able to attend the Jesus at the Core wellness event hosted by Holy Yoga and Revelation Wellness.

On Friday night we flowed through the hardest yoga practice I’ve ever been through. Then on Saturday we sweated through a Revelation workout and did another 30 minutes of yoga. I’m still in pain today! If you are interested in Christ based fitness, these two organizations are the real deal.

I seriously can’t handle this picture, I have no idea why I’m sharing it. But there it is!

And the only thing to do after an hour of yoga is to eat at 8:45, right?

Post Yoga High, it’s a thing guys.

We were off the charts by this time.

Yum.

Have a great week!

Life on the Weekend

Linking up for This Weekend I…

TWI

Nothing is better than the weekend, am I right? This one was especially wonderful.

My friends and I love themed parties, more than your average group of girls. We live for coordinated shindigs.

GEDC2012

Themed parties are work, y’all.

GEDC2015

Photo booth props. Cause these days a party isn’t a party without a photo booth.

Can’t wait for it to all come together.

Did you know Sister Wives is on Netflix? Umm yeah, glued to the tv all weekend. Lord help me, how do I get sucked into these shows?

Save me from the Brown’s (or myself)!

How was your weekend?

Life on the Weekend (or why I missed the best part of the Super Bowl)

Linking up for This Weekend I…

TWI

I had an exceptionally amazing weekend with my friends. Let’s jump right in!

*Friday night was low key. Folded some laundry (Holla!) and watched some movies.

*My “sisters” and I love throwing theme parties. On Saturday, I met up with Amy to plan our Valentine’s Bash. Do you know how hard it is to find ideas for a Girls V-Day party that isn’t all “ DEATH TO BOYS! SINGLES FOREVER!”? We’ve got some awesome ideas though.

Just a typical Saturday night surfing Pinterest and drinking coffee with your sister!

*While at Amy’s I stumbled upon old pictures of myself. Holy cow, I can’t believe how much I’ve changed in the last seven months. It’s also such a great motivator! I should put together a progress post.

*Super Bowl Sunday started out with a Hills marathon. I could watch that train wreck over and over. No shame, friends.

*My Bindi likes to hide in blankets!

*Great day drinking party with friends.

I left right after Shasa Fierce and her holographic doubles (triples? quadruples?) boogied off the stage. You all know where this is heading. I missed the lights going out, most of the good commercials, and probably an audience camera pan of one Michael Phelps. Ugh.

How was your Super Weekend?

Life on the Lake

It’s a well documented fact that I have awesome friends. Last week my “sister” Angela turned 28 officially entering into Our Year as she and I have dubbed it. Angela has made it her mission to fully live out her 30 before 30 list in the next two years. Lucky for us, we get to join along!

On Saturday we conquered Stand-up Paddleboarding. (Sorry for the iphone and instagram pictures)

Lucy has a way of making sure everyone feels loved on her day even if we’re eating on the patio at Paradise Bakery!

Not only does Lucy bring the decorations, she brings her own coffee.

Excuse me, I need to stretch.

Just in case you wanted to get up close and personal with my face!

WE DID IT!

What a day! I was getting so nervous right before I got on the board. All I could think of was broken legs, arms, and falling to the bottom of the lake (cause, ew!). But none of those fears were realized. We all stayed up and the only thing that got wet were our feet. About half way through we all wanted to plan the next time we could go!

Life as a Princess

I mentioned yesterday that my “sisters” and I spent some time at The Fairmont Princess over the weekend.

We had such a blast getting closer (like we really needed an excuse!) and acting a fool.

We crammed 10 girls into one room. Hence the three air mattresses. Only with my friends do we bring camping equipment to a five star resort!

Life Laughing

My friend Lucy had a birthday in May. We laughed all night long with Tim Hawkins. (Hilarious Christian comedian)

What’s a birthday without some pineapple sunglasses?

Life in the Moment

I honestly don’t remember where or when I came up with the title for this blog.

I don’t remember if I had this brilliant moment of clarity,(that a few and far between, let me tell ya!), or I just thought it was catchy. Whatever the case may be, I can see why this title fits me perfectly. It’s given me a chance to sit back, enjoy the ride, and get to know the people who make up my life.

I’ve always seen life as a journey. This past weekend I had the chance to meet some people that I never would have met had it not been for my dear friend, Mandy.

Through this amazing evening, I realized that are all searching for the same three things:

*A place to fit in.

*Someone (or something) to love.

*A community that supports and encourages you.

Basically, we are all looking for a Supporting Cast.

A cast to fill out our lives and give a little hope for our weary souls.

For some people your cast is filled out with your immediate family.

For others you may fit in with a small group from church.

Still others find meaning and comfort in the arms of co workers.

Whatever the case may be, we all need people. People who won’t judge us when we get a bad haircut or date a loser. Friends who see us for who we really are and still love us deep down.

Supporting casts may change and grow in the never ending flux of life. My family has always been a source of great encouragement for me. Because of the long distances between us, my cast is not always filled with my brothers or even my parents. Because of this, God has blessed me greatly with people to share my life with.

GEDC0262

These are some of the people who make up the moments in my life.

These are the people I can laugh, cry and get extremely real with.

Bonus: They make my life fun! Plus, they give me great blogging content and they put up with incessant picture taking!

GEDC0266

My “sisters” understand me with a grace that only comes from knowing Jesus. We’re not perfect and we don’t claim to be. Our Maker loves us perfectly and therefore we can love each other. Together, we help each other live each day fully. We live not for the past, not for the future, but today because that’s all that we are promised.

Life on the Weekend

Have you ever looked back on a Monday to your weekend and thought, “Hot dang, that was awesome!”

Usually my weekends are pretty quiet. Playing a little catch up around the house, spending time with some friends, and napping. Oh glorious naps!

Sometimes, my weekends take me to unexpected places where I experience life to the maximum.

And my “my new camera is awesome” picture.

Excuse me while I let this poster speak the truth.

What’s your perfect weekend?
