Life in June: Number 18

Catch up here!

Have I mentioned how much I loathe moving? I mean, really, doesn’t everyone? I started packing up my closet yesterday and I instantly went into super-ocd-panic stage. But I’m sure this move will be just like all the others. What I like to call –Dump everything in a box and call it a day- moving. I officially hate my life. Well, for the next two weeks at least! And oh, I'm having a Shop My Closet Sale on my Instagram racheltoo2. I'll have some clothes and some decor stuff, let me know if you're interested.

So, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Number 19: I’ve learned that everyone has a thing.
Everybody has something that makes them happy. Whether it’s a tv show, a sports team, band, or hobby we all have something. If  you’ve been around here long enough, you know my thing happens to be half naked men that swim super fast! You may love to photograph your dog. Or maybe you are a fantastic painter. Perhaps you enjoy writing fanfiction for your favorite movie (Hey, it’s a thing people!). The point is, we all have something that makes us happy. The sight of Ryan Lochte in a speedo may do nothing for you, but it makes me happy!

So why do we think it’s ok to make fun or push aside each other’s things? Just because I don’t watch, or care to watch, Dr. Who doesn’t make it ok for me to pass judgment on my friends who love the show.( I mean looooove the show.)

Find your people and revel in that niche. Because once you do, you’ll find out that you’re not alone.
And, don’t feel bad about talking to me (or other people) about your thing. Because heaven knows that I have no trouble sharing mine with you! Be proud! Wear the t-shirts, live tweet your show, embrace your thing and we will be better because of it. Heck, I might even want to join you.

Just don’t ask me to watch Downton Abbey, I can’t get behind that.

YAY FOR THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

As an avid fan-girl of a lot of things, you were right, I loved this post. :)

And I hate moving too. Packing and everything that goes along with it is such a pain.

(I found your blog from Sweet Tea Social. :)

I agree that people have their "things," and that we should respect their particularities because, for whatever reason, said things give them happiness and we are in no place to judge their endeavors.

I love Twitter, for one thing. I find it fascinating, and I'm always on it. Lol. It's my "thing," and I like meeting people from all over. I also love blogging and website creation. My friends like being on Facebook. Haha. I'm never on it anymore, but I don't chide them for it. It's their hobby, just as blogging is mine. :)

Did you see Ryan Lochte on Ellen last week? He's so kiddish! :)

Thanks for this!
